The customer cannot participate in our coasteering sessions if they have:

• Heart conditions

• Pregnancy

• Impairment due to the influence of alcohol or drugs

• Any other physical or mental condition which may restrict your ability to swim in the sea and scramble up and over rocks safely.

 

Restrictions:

There is a minimum age limit of 14 years and participants must be comfortable swimming in the sea.

All participants are required to sign a waiver form, false information could affect the safety and security of the staff and customer and invalidate the insurance. If the participant is under 16 years of age, the waiver form must be completed and signed by a parent/legal guardian.

 

Adventure West reserve the right to cancel operations for any reason which may affect the safety and security of the customer or staff.

 

In the event that Adventure West has to cancel your booking due to Health & Safety, it shall endeavour to notify you as soon as possible by text to your contact mobile number. You are then entitled to rebook your event for an alternative date.

Adventure West are not responsible for any damage or loss to customer property at the coasteering site.

All of our instructors are professionally qualified and all of our activities are licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (License number L8053/R1438), who ensure our compliance with nationally recognised standards of best working practice. We also have Technical Advisors for all our activities, who as experts in their own fields ensure that we maintain our high standards. All our activities are designed to perfectly balance the thrill of adventure with proven risk management to produce the absolute best in your outdoor experience.

Here at Kernow Coasteering we aim to give you the chance to experience this exhilarating activity in this fantastic part of the World, and making you sure you do it as safely as possible. All our coasteering guides have extensive knowledge of the cliffs and seas around our area, and our guides hold a variety of recognised lifesaving, first aid and other relevant qualifications.

Without proper care, attention and knowledge of the route, coasteering, like any activity, has the potential for injury or even worse. At Kernow Coasteering we want you to be re-assured by knowing that your safety is our number one concern. All coasteerers are provided with a wetsuit, buoyancy aid, and helmet, and all of our guides are fully trained.

Kernow Coasteering is registered with The Adventure Activities Licensing Service as licensed to provide specified activities under the following headings:

Coasteering is definitely an adventure and comes with a certain level of risk. Risk in the outdoors can never be completely eliminated. However, choosing the right Coasteering provider will ensure you have an awesome adventure whilst remaining safe.

Celtic Quest Coasteering Limited (CQC) aims to provide stimulating and challenging outdoor experiences for members of the public and various organisations. By their very nature outdoor activities take place in potentially hazardous environments. Regulations governing the commercial provision of activities for under eighteen’s demands that risk assessment is initiated by the provider as a legal requirement. The management of Health and Safety at Work regulations 1992 made under the 1974 act require employers to:

Assess the risk of activities
Introduce measures to control these risks
Tell their employees about the measures.

Also under Health and safety legislation employees must:

Take reasonable care of their own and others health and safety
Co-operate with their employers over safety matters
Carry out activities in accordance with training and instructions
Inform the employer of any serious risks

INSURANCE

We hold public liability insurance up to £10 million and are happy to provide a copy of our certificate should you need one. Bookings with Celtic Quest DO NOT include personal travel or accident insurance. Please ask your insurer for details of the necessary cover for taking part in Coasteering.
